Disney | Rodeos | Little Mermaid | Best Friends

My blog posts are beginning to start like my journal entries... "I'm sorry it's been awhile.."

BUT any who... Life has basically come full circle since I posted last. I moved home to North Salt Lake and now I'm officially back in Provo once again for Summer semester at BYU.

While I was living at home my mom hooked me up with a job at her charter school, Legacy Preparatory Academy. I worked with the Special Ed files and I also on occasion had the opportunity to work with the Special Education children. It was an incredible learning experience.

Besides working, it was a lot of fun spending time with my parents and friends from home. You would think because basically EVERYONE I know are gone on missions that I wouldn't have much to do at home... but I still managed to go on a few adventures. Here are a few highlights. :)

First and foremost, I got to go to DISNEYLAND with my best friend and her family! If you know how crazy obsessed I am with Disneyland than you understand how crazy obsessed Danielle is with Disneyland as well... so crazy obsessed x2 = a lot of magic and the two happiest girls in the happiest place on earth!

I made a video of our adventures starting on Hollywood Boulevard, to Thalia Beach and off to Disneyland/California Adventure!

After we got back from Disneyland reality sunk in and I actually had to start working again at LPA. But the job definitely came with some perks... the week I started working there was Teacher Appreciation Week and they had the teachers have a contest of who could dress up in the best Super hero outfit.. well my mom forgot to bring a costume so she decided to be innovative and had me staple her into a dress...

duh duh duh duh! Super K! hahaha my mom just cracks me up! I love her!

Then Mother's Day rolled around the corner and we got to talk with our favorite Sister Kirkham via Skype! The best part about it was knowing that the next time I see her face will be in person in the Salt Lake Airport. :)

Then our best friends decided to pay a visit to Bountiful! We went to see the chalk art on Main Street, had a cartwheel race, and played tennis. (Brandon and I won, just like we did in basketball... and everything else. #winning)

Then Danielle and I drove down to Provo to support our roommate Keena at her farewell. She is currently still training in the MTC and seems to be on fire already and she's not even in the field! We love and miss you Keen!

Then my dad let me take his new toy for a spin around the yard... let's just say I could use some more practice on that thing.. (sorry tree..)

We visited my Grandparents graves on Memorial Day and were lucky enough to have a bagpipe player playing Amazing Grace near their graves. I miss Grandma and can still her laugh in my head. I can't wait to meet Grandpa in the next life.

We went down to visit our boys and introduced them to Hokulia which Adam has now renamed Ho's. haha

Then one day my dad surprised my mom with a little gift... we named her Lil' Lou because she's crazy cute plus I learned the true meaning of tangled hair after one ride on the freeway in that sweet little convertible.

Then two major things happened on June 5!
1. We celebrated Katie's YEAR mark at the same place we ate before dropping her off: Kneaders.. but yes that means she only has 6 months left.. and actually at this point we're approaching another month mark.. so we're actually closer to 5 months left! I'm so excited for her to come home I actually dreamed about her homecoming last night.

2. My BEST FRIEND, Cami Horrocks got her mission call and you'll never guess where she got called to! Yep. Orlando, Florida. Now my sister/best friend and my best friend/sister will both be serving in the same mission! Let's just say that Orlando is the luckiest city in the world in my eyes.

Katie's best friend, Jane Campbell, married Alex Swanson! Jane is like another older sister to me. I was surprised by how emotional the night made me. But their reception at the Country Club was BEAUTIFUL and they are SO in love. It's love like there's that make people want to find love.

Then Danielle and I went to Delta, UT for the weekend. I had never been there before.. it was literally in the middle of nowhere but the cutest little town! We went down for the Delta Rodeo. I hadn't been to a rodeo since I was younger so it was so fun to go back again! On top of the rodeo, we got a shake from Leo's and four-wheeling out to the sand dunes! Danielle also brought this adorable hat along that we obviously had to model.. these are just two of my favorites..

I made a short video of our getaway...
disclaimer: running up the sand dunes is a lot harder than it looks.

Then my parents took me for a little weekend getaway to St. George! We of course had to stop and take a picture on Beaver's famous rocking chair. (Which sadly I had to sit in alone because Katie wasnt there..) It was 103 degrees down in St. George that weekend.. so yes we were a hot mess.

But Mom and Dad took me to Tuachan to see The Little Mermaid! It brought back SO many memories and made me miss all my fishies! I'm grateful for the good memories I have of life with a fin.

Adam and Brandon got jobs as EFY counselors! Brandon has been in Georgia for the past two weeks and Adam was a counselor this last week in Provo. Before they headed out they took us on a night hike up Provo Canyon. We went to this completely empty field, turned all the lights off and just laid on the ground and looked at all the stars. It was breathtakingly beautiful and one of my all time favorite moments we've ever had as best friends. I'm so grateful for their friendship and I'm missing them like crazy!

Last but not least.. Suzie has been living in Spain for a month. She still has a whole month left and I'm dying without her! It's been super difficult trying to Skype because the time difference is so off, but we finally found the time. Although the connection wasn't all that great, it was so fun to see her face again and hear her voice! Counting down the days until she gets home! (31 days..)

Well sayonara! Until next time!
